Why can't I pause and rewind live TV on my Bravia Xd8088?

I have a HDD drive successfully formatted and registered for recording. It works when I press the record button but I can't pause or rewind live TV. This seems strange and disappointing. Anyone know if this can be implemented?

Hi there

In regards to pausing live TV - this is called "Time Shift". Sony Android TVs currently do not have a timeshift function unfortuately. This has been requested many times, but we do not know if/when such function will be implemented.

You should be able to pause the playback though, and playback can started immediately following the commencement of the recording.

Ah, that is really dissapointing. I have just "upgraded" to Bravia smart tv from a Philips costing half the price! That telly had no probs with pause & rewind live tv and recording. How ridiculous of Sony not to include this feature, I assumed it was universal standard these days ☹️
