Update for apps KLD-46W905A please

Hi . My tv KLD-46W905A has not been able to play BBC iplayer or channel 5 for quite some time now. BBC iplayer has my model as compatible in its list so it should work . I have waited patiently for an update to the system with no luck and come to you forum uses for assistance please. In my opinion and everyone else that has seen my tv it is the best for picture quality that Sony have ever produced..just a shame it was only on the market for a very short time. Iknow its a few years old now but everyone still asks me where they can get one. So is there an update or fix i can use ?

Hello Mick.

The only way i can get BBC i player to work on the tv at the moment is by screen mirroring with my Xperia X Compact phone.

My windows 10 computer tries to connect via screen mirroring but always fails at the last moment.

I haven't tried screen cast via Google at all yet.

The built in web browser on the tv wont connect to BBC i player either.

This might be related to the software on the TV. The latest software version is v4.600, are you sure that's the version you have?

I do have software version v4.600 .on my TV though.

The BBC Iplayer stopped working when they changed the way you connect to the site...ie with a passcode. My app is still the old one, just sits there before in the end the TV gives up

Did the factory reset as requested and the BBC I player worked fine, however Demand 5 still freezes on the site itself with the menu up but selected programme never starts , also the WWW only gets as far as the Sony page for selecting Europe etc and freezes up also. Utube and Netflix are still working as usual.

I turned the TV off that night, tried again the next day and i found the BBC I player has returned to not working at all again. So i'm afraid that now on the TV i have BBC I player, Demand 5 and WWW, all not working . Doing the reset has now lost me the WWW as well as the others.

More help needed please.

Could you confirm if you are using the BBC iPlayer app or if you are trying to access BBC using the TV's browser? As it's recommended to use the app not the browser.

Also, could you try resetting the router, then try to connect to the TV to a hotspot network if possible and check the outcome?
