    <description>&lt;LI-SPOILER&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI-SPOILER&gt;&lt;P&gt;3D is &lt;A href="https://www.cnet.com/news/shambling-corpse-of-3d-tv-finally-falls-down-dead/" target="_blank"&gt;dead&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.fi/html/@2BCCF2B8EF153EA1D16A9CBA2BB29931/images/smilies/039.png" alt=":tired:" title=":tired:" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It was always a bit of a headache, for manufacturers and users alike, though I expect those 2015 and 2016 3D sets in the sweet spot with HDCP2.2 and HDR will command a respectable premium in the pre-owned market in the future.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But the firmware cavalry aren’t going to ride to your rescue here, so to protect your current investment in 3D Blu-rays, this setting, switched from Auto to Off on your 800, is your friend:-&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;x [3D Output Setting]&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;[Auto]: Normally select this.&lt;BR /&gt;[Off]: Select this to display all content in 2D or to enjoy 4K output using 3D content.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The wording of the latter could usefully be improved to make it clearer that it means to present 3D HD content upscaled to 2D 4K, but that is a detail for Sony to attend to.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Having been a longstanding fan of Sony imagine my disappointment upon purchasing my Sony 65" 9005 tv and upon inserting a 3D blu-ray into my Sony 800 player getting the message my display is not compatible.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sony THIS IS A DISGRACE.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sort out the firmware please £2000 invested and not working Grrrrr!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Pull your fingers out of your ears and fix the problem.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
