Enable 3D within 3rd party apps - Android Nougat on 2015 models

Under Android Lollipop, 3D mode could be enabled in 3rd party apps (Kodi for example) by using a remote with a dedicated 3D button or using the Sideview app as a workaround to the missing 3D menu option (https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/android-tv-bugs-and-issues/m-p/2089584#M69) However under Marshmallow this workaround was removed (https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/android-tv-bugs-and-issues/m-p/2308279#M17685)

Does anyone know the status under Nougat?

No one installed the update (https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00196897) and able to check if 3D mode can be activated in 3rd party app (i.e Kodi) ?
