Hi there, my parents have recently bought a KD-43EX8396 TV.

I have only just connected an external device via HDMI for them - blu-Ray player (also Sony BDPS790). They tried watching a blu-ray last night, but after a few minutes the picture flickered, the sound dropped out with a loud click and the info banner appeared on screen, before settling back to normal. This then became more frequent as time went on, so it was happening every 30 seconds or so making it impossible to watch anything.

O checked all connections and tried all HDMI inputs with the same outcome. It even happened when the blu-ray was paused.

Has anybody any ideas?

Cheers, sim
