Android update September '18 iplayer app gone

Have just updated my 65XE9305 to the latest firmware of v6.5629 on 19/09/18. Was hoping to check the BBC iplayer hlg fix and the app is no longer showing on the home screen and I cannot find anywhere.

Anyone else having this?

Mine has done this before, try using the discover button and scrolling to Apps there, for some reasons (if for example you disable Sony Shelf) it can disapear from the Home screen.

You can also install the app launchers which will restore the icon (for example if you have removed Youview)

Do a google search for "hoshsadiq" "github" and "bravia-youview-player-launchers" and install that APK.

As am I, I won't be convinced its actually "working" no matter what the firmware states unless the BBC confirm it.

Yep would have nice to watch the World cup/Wimbledon in hdr...

I don't suppose you have noticed any issues with Dolby Vision since the update?

On netflix, the dolby vision used to run fine but since upgrading, whenever I watch anything DV there appears to be a quick contrast change when it's really bright which never used to happen 😞

Think i'm going to un/reinstall netflix and see if theres any change.

My XE9005 does not support DV so I can't really help with that.
