I just once played a video of 1080p after that movie don't play even mp4 of lower format properly.

Try settings-apps-all-movies,force stop and clear data.Restart your phone.

it worked for 720p videos but hanged and restart the phone again. this is the only app which is creating problem to watch videos smoothly.

Try maybe a different movie player,like MX player or BS player,it depends on the codecs also.

In mx player 1080p also lacks but all the information provided by you was helpful. thanks a lot

I found the stock player did not handle MKV files at a decent frame rate, but that MX Player with "Use H/W+ decoder" option set to on, which it isn't by default, played all movies just fine, including movies over 1Gb in size and all formats.

i try to open youtube using mx player app, but it's not working.. notification said that "can't play this video".

I'm already set the H/W+ decoder on. but still can't open. Also download custom codec and extracted.

Please advise me, is there any other step for this issue. I just want to make sure the device is working properly when the HD movie playing on using yotube.
