I'm assuming you have Cinema Pro open in total darkness (or face flat on a table)? I've just opened Cinema Pro in our darkroom using the same settings as you had and I get the same thing but only at a high ISO. So yes, I would say it's normal. It doesn't cause any issues under normal usage.

It is not normal. I was about to post this topic also. It is definitely a software issue. You can prove this by stopping the app then going into settings and clear the cache and data for this app. Once you reboot the phone there should be no sparkles even at high ISO setting. You can record clear video even in near darkness. However over time the sparkles will return.

Yep, you're right. It only seems to happen to me when the LOOK is set to N/A though which I never have it set to that.

No i open it in a quite bright area...i just put my hand close to the camera so you can see the thing clearly

Hot pixels show in high iso darkness after a short amount of use, clearing the cache and rebooting is just letting them cool.

Do the hot pixels show in normal use? That's the question,

On my testing, the sparkles only appeared at ISO 500 upwards and 360 degree shutter (even during recording) and only using the 16mm lens. Screen also showed a strange moire pattern, The pic below shows the pattern, I've lowered the ISO to make it easier to see.

However, in order for me to get the sparkles to show, I had to start Cinema Pro with the lens covered so there was no light entering the camera, set to high ISO, 360 degree shutter then uncover the lens which in most cases gives a terribly over exposed image. Making those settings under normal use, ie in natural light, no sparkles appear.

For me though, it only happens when selecting n/a for the Look. Simply switching to a different Look and the sparkles / Moire pattern disappear, even if I go back to the n/a Look.

Yes looks they only appear in N/A mode.

You are right...but if you on and off the stabilizer ...the thing will disappear

I really think that the members in question here, really need to read up on hot pixels, how they happen and how they can avoid them.
This is not just a Sony issue, and if they sent the phones off for repair, if the camera is reset or remapped, they will only get more pixels in new locations, and if it's replaced, then same again, they might get them more or less on another phone.
It doesn't happen in normal shooting, only in pitch black/blank/ long exposure/super high ISO shots.
My daughters Canon camera has them, easily replicable but never seen on normal usage, as not seen on her uni work, and really only when shots with the lens cap on/long exposure shots, etc have been taken/tested/played with.
