Sim Free Xperia Z C6603 Updates

I've tried to search for this without success, so sorry if it's a known thing.
I bought the above phone in the UK. I live in the UK.

I had thought they by buying sim free, I would get updates from Sony as soon as they were released.
However, it appears that I was wrong.
Any idea why I wouldn't get updates?

Currently on 4.4.2 (10.5.A.0.230), which my phone tells me is up to date. I've tried updating using both Sony Pc Companion and OTA.

You can manually flash another country's firmware however to answer your question - Before generic handsets get the update the networks have to all authorise the update, I'm not saying they have to release the update but they do have to authorise it - Then Sony will be authorised to release it to generic devices - I'm also in the UK so can confirm this is how the system works for us

Oh well. One piece of good news, immediately after making this post, I got an OTA notification that 4.4.4 update was available.

Hello, how can I solve sim card problem.? I already insert sim in Xperia z right way, but network not available. I also tried other sim card but same problem how can I solve this problem, now I am is Israel.
