How can I maintain lanpscape all the time?

Hi, I would like to maintain (the screen not camera ) lanscape mode all the time. I tried to disable auto-rotate and it go to protrate mode right away. Why dont we have lanscape mode ? Or could we simply have pure NOT auto-rotate mode?

The only way Sony's home launcher will rotate is if you are using a Dock or a magnetic cable, other than that, it won't work unless you use a third party launcher.

The screen that you are referring is the Home Launcher.

I need this because I am making screen recording. From app to home, it changes to potrait. I have to rotate the phone so that the front camera shows correctly and then get back to app I want to be sure my app is lanscape. So I wAnt to disable auto-rotate. Or pure non-rotate.

I dont know why home cannot landscape well I try to accept. But finally I cannot do the screen recording well.

Like I said on my first post, the home launcher will rotate landscape only if you use a Dock or magnetic cable.

Z3c is strange. When u disable non-rotate, it force to portrait mode (all the screens, not only home launcher screen) Am I the only one?

That's how its supposed to work.

Also, there are apps on the playstore that can force landscape or portrait mode.

@uliwooly. Could you stop talking about home launcher? it is NOT even relevant here. What I need is maintain the screen of APP landscape all the time. Are you saying this is not possible for Z3C? Please do not talk about home luncher anymore (in my requirement, it is OK to be portrait when I get back to home screen, but I need that the APP not rotates in any movment).

To be more clear, I do not need an app to force to lanscape or potrait!!! I just need to disable the function "rotation". It is Z3C that always goes to potrait. I updated to android 5.0.2. Are we on the same ground?

What do you mean "That's how its supposed to work." To me, it is unique in Z3C.

if you disable rotation, it will stay on portrait mode, that's how it works. if you want it to stay on landscape mode, not just the home launcher but whichever app you are using,

you will need

1. an app from the playstore to force it to stay on landscape

2. use a Dock or Magnetic cable

those are your options.

To me there are risk to install any app. It is aburd to install an app for this. The same to buy extra equipment only for this. I am not happy to these two options. I dont know why Z3C make a so simple thing so comlicated, but thanks anyway.

Uliwooly is 100% correct. You can not achieve this without installing a 3rd party app. I will however forward your feedback internally.

Sorry It was my fault. I had an iphone (iphone cannot do this either. I never screen recorded on iphone so I never needed it) and I used andorid years but only for tablet. I checked my friend's andriod phone, it has also the issue. If Z3C solve this prolem then it would be unique (like screen recording on Z3c). Just say that I responsed this as an normal user not as an engineer. Thank you very much for the support.
