Countdown function

Hi guys.

Just made the switch to Z3 from Z1C. Overall very pleased. And so far i just found this tiny issue. If I use the countdown and the phone has the screen locked a notification pops up i get 1 second of the alarm and then silent.

The phone is running on kitkat.

I did restart in safe mode, i did clean the app cache but no luck.

I open alarm and clock
I pick the timer
Set the countdown time
Lock the device
When the time is up the alarm rings for just one second and the phone unlocks

If i do not lock the phone the alarm sounds until I mute it.

it works fine for me, it keeps ringing, you might want to change the alarm sound

I can not change the timer alarm...

It's really odd. If I keep the phone awake with the screen unlocked, when the time is up, lets say 1 minute countdown, the alarm rings ok until I stop. If the screen is locked it wakes up the phone, unlocks it, sounds for 1 second and then mutes, However the alarm clock pops up and still ask me to stop.

I use this function very often when I exercise, between reps.

Any other ideas?

that's quite odd, perhaps

settings > apps > all > look for the clock or alarm app > clear data > restart the phone > check again.

I mentioned in the first post that I have done this...

I am doing it again as I type this.

... and the same.

I'll go back to shop and try another unit if I can't find a way to fix it.

There is a count down mini app. Try that 1 except the clock.

Press the right botton from the home screen then at the bottom a yellow mini app, its a tiner

The countdown mini app works normaly. Seems even odder.

The set time dialogue is the same. When i use the mini app the sound works normaly but the screen stays locked. When I use the normal one the opposite...

The battery will drain faster the first few days, but it will be ok after, a suggestion, update to lollipop and then re-install it, it smooth things out faster

I tested more and the issue appears only when the screen is locked and inactive. If I touch power button and do not unlock the screen the app will function normally.

I went to Sony shop and had the phone examined by a technician who confirmed is a 4.4.4 bug for this model and "warmly" advised to upgrade to 5.0.2.

Lollipop is still love hate so if the battery life is an issue I'll skip it for now.
