Thanks for the reply. The link to the article does not mention the headphone models you say. However my bluetooth connection is definitely to WF-1000XM3
You mention a difference betweeen headphone setting and headset setting - I can't see a way to check this and as far as I can see no options are available to check (probably just my lack of knowledge).
I've tried resetting the device and setting up again and there is no difference - the volume is still considerably lower on Windows connection. I now suspect that this is a Windows problem (as usual) and perhaps a fix will miraculously appear in a year's time! My Android connection is still fine.
Thanks again,
Simon

Hi. My WF-1000XM3 earphones had been working perfectly until yesterday. Now however when I use them on a Windows desktop connection the volume is reduced by about a half. They work fine on an Android connection.

I have checked on the Sony Headphones connect app and appear to be on the latest version 3.0.0 I have also been into Device Manager and tried both updating the drivers and uninstalling the device (and then restarting). My old WF-1000X earphones are working normally on the same desktop.

Anybody got any ideas?

Double check that you're connecting to the correct model number mentioned in this article (mainly WF-1000XM3 instead of LE_WF-1000XM3) and also that you're using headphones mode and not headset mode.

Hope this helps!

- JD

Hi Simon, I guess this is not an issue with the headphones either, try reaching out to your PC's support. If you want to double-check this, try a different phone, like an iPhone.
