Bose QC25 (Wired) inline controls not working with SONY AW-A45 Walkman

I have just purchased my NW-A45 Walkman but my Bose QC25 (wired) Headphones inline control buttons (play/pause/next) dont operate the Walkman. The headphones work with my iPod Classic. Is it simply a case of non compatibility or is there a setting I can change on the player ?

Im annoyed with the Currys salesman who told me they are compatible......

Hello @efiste2.,

the in-line controls work via the fourth contact of the (TRRS) connector - the player though only supports TRS headphones, which causes the controls to simply not connect hardware-wise.
