A6000- Can NFC be turned on/off ?

On my A6000 camera the NFC symbol is allvays visible in the viewfinder/screen. I wonder if there is a way to turn i it off when I don't need it in order to save battery ? (It can be turned on/off on all mobilephones)

Hi,

the only way, I think, is turn OFF Airplane Mode:

OK, so this indicates it is meant to be "on" all the time (except when in the air)?
