Automatic switch between finder/monitor doesn't work

Hi,

I have a ILCE 7. I've always used the automatic switch between using the finder / monitor, so if I look in the finder the display comes up there but if I don't, the monitor is displayed instead.

This forth and back switch has worked properly for a number of years but now something has happened. If I select auto in "finder/monitor" it still only displays in the finder and not on the monitor.

I've downloaded the latest upgrade but the problem is still there. Any suggestions of what I could do?

Have you checked your viewfinder is clean ? If it's dirty the camera will assume you have your eye at the viewfinder and won't switch modes
