Sony service centre rip off

My camera and lens stoped working after suffer some water damage during a expedition cruise. I contact Sony vis email and explain the situation about water damge to my gear and wanted to know if they can repair them and cost etc.

I was then advise to send the gear to service centre and was charged £171 for a fixed price. 2 days later I go my gear back with a note saying it is evident that my gear suffered water damage and thus they won't be repaired.

Hello?? I know my gear suffered water damage, I told you in my email. Sony charge me £171 to tell me something that I told them. WHAT???????

It is a rip off!! If you can't, don't and won't repair camera with water damage, just say so and don't wasting people's time and money.
