Hi,

One of the family members were messing about with my Sony Vaio PCG-FR315S and they accidently set the BIOS password. Which they can't remember any more. I can still access my Operating system and log in, but I can't access teh BIOS Setup it keeps asking for password.

I would be highly grateful if someone could share some light in how I can reset the BIOS password

Kind Regards,

Mustafa

For security reasons, most modern notebooks store the BIOS passwork in what is called non volatile memory. You will need to contact Sony or a company specialising in resetting the password or changing out the NVRAM chip.

Removing the motherboard battery will have no effect, nor will there be a reset jumper.
