VAIO sound issue after Windows 8.1 update

Hi everyone. I have a very specific question to ask. A few days ago, I updated my vaio to Windows 8.1. Everything runs perfectly smooth.However, i noticed that there is a problem with my sound. The problem is that my vaio sounds around 50% more quiet after the update. The strangest thing is that I don't hear any sound coming from the speakers when playing music or video,until I turn up the volume at 30%. Even when I turn up the volume to 100% the sound is stil not loud. Before the update this machine had an amazing sound. My laptop model is SVF15A1M2ES.

I will be very grateful if anyone can help me.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my Vaio E series (SVE1511L1EW). Upgraded to Windows 8.1 and the sound massively reduced, to hear it properly I have to set to 100% and even then it isn't that loud.

It's driving me nuts, can anyone help? I've checked the drivers on the website but there's nothing obvious there.
