sony vaio won't start

when power on LED light is ON but the fan does not spin and the screen remain blank. i need urgent help on this

Please give us your Vaio Model which may allow someone to help you as some models have known problems.

Are you using the original OS and does this happen when you are using both AC and battery power?

Try a "HARD" boot, by holding down the power button. ( for about 5 to 10 sec) to see if you get a response, or if don't work if you have an assist button try that, failing that try to see if you can get into the BIOS.
