CD drives do not go out of date nor do drivers or firmware, although updates do provide additional functionality.<BR /><BR />First thing to try is uninstalling the drive using Device Manager and then re-boot.<BR /><BR />If this has no effect then clean the laser lens with a propriety cleaner.<BR /><BR />If none of the above works then the drive may be faulty.
