External Hard Drive

Hi all,

I recently upgraded from a Sony Bravia kdl-55w905a to Sony Bravia KD55A1 .

I had an external hard drive plugged into the side USB of the 55w905a which worked great and played more or less anything i threw at it. However since upgrading to the A1, it is only pickup up half a dozen files and out of those, the names of them are completely random "£$xblcneu". They are also only accessable via the Google Video app.

I tried download VLC and its doing the same thing.

I tried plugging the hard drive back into the 55w905a and it still works great, and tried plugging it back into my PC (also no issues).

Is this a driver issue? A file format issue? or a Hard drive format issue? (None of which make sense to me since the older model works fine)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi 5232247,

It might be possible that the Hard Drive is not compatible with your TV.

You can find more details here on which HDD are compatible.
