Can this player play MP4 files from BR discs? I know it can be from USB, but from discs?

This link suggests it can play .mp4s.

Page 29 there suggests it can play BD-Rs, with some minor caveats.

The almost universal implication of the way the information is presented is that if it can play the disc type and it can play the file format, then it can play the file format on the disc type,

I can’t see any cross-caveats there that contraindicate your chosen combination, but best look at those 2 pages carefully.
