Google TV update for XH90/XH95 2020 models

As the title says are there any plans to update 2020 models to Google TV like on the 2021 models?

I tried reaching out to Sony support reps for a confirmation but it seems that no plan has been shared internally yet.

Would be great to get some confirmation because from past experience I had XE85 and recieved 4 major Android relases...

I would expect the update personally as well, definitely won't be for every single model but I think most will receive the update.

Hopefully XH90 will be one of those 🙂

No my friends Sony is really going the wrong way and doing evrything to lose Customers.

The x90j is the reissue of the xh90, the only difference is Google tv instead of android 9.

We xh90 WILL NOT have Google TV wich some assume would be a solution for the blur 4k@120hz.

I use to love Sony products, this tv was the last thing ever labelled Sony product that i bought, never again.

Re-issueing the same tv with exactly same hardware with Google Tv and leave us, owners of 2020 models without it really vicious.

I mean *****, to have the latest os, i need to buy a new tv every year ?

Why would they update the exactly same 2020 model that cost 999$ 55" when they can sell you the exact same model a few months later with a different name and for 1399$ 55"

It's a matter of time, so we can just wait for all the new models to drop and then for the "unification" update for 2021, they did the same thing last year, updating the older models to at least have almost the exact same home/settings layout with slightly better performance.

So here's to hoping!

This is so sad for sony if they wont provide any new OS updates to even 2020 flagship models.

Where is your "sustainable development"?
