Have to re-apply the Enhanced HDMI Format setting every time the TV restarts or sleeps (50X90S)

Got a weird bug that is causing MY 50X90S TV to have major audio delay and input lag across all apps and inputs every time the TV is restarted or comes out of sleep.

The only way I can resolve it is to head to the HDMI Signal Format setting and toggle it from Enhanced to Standard, then back to Enhanced. It does not matter which input I choose to do this, just that it gets done.

I can also temporarily fix it by quickly turning the TV off and on - it's only when it goes into the "deep sleep" after roughly 20 minutes that the problems start.

I can only conclude that the HDMI Signal Format settings are not being correctly re-initialized when the TV comes out of sleep or restarts, and my workarounds perform the necessary initialization.

I am on the latest firmware and I have performed a factory reset, but it hasn't helped.

I believe this is the root cause of the issues I have been posting about regarding this TV ever since I bought it in 2023.

@pabulous I would have cleared the cached data and storage from the TV to eliminate any unwanted data that might affect the performance of the TV Press: Home > Setting > Storage > Cached data

It seems like the TV is not properly reinitializing the HDMI settings after deep sleep, and your workaround is causing it to reset properly. Since you have already updated the firmware and factory reset without success, this looks like a firmware bug. The best course of action right now would be to report the issue directly to the manufacturer, providing all the details you have noticed. They may release a fix in a future update or suggest additional steps. Until then, your workaround seems like the only reliable solution.

Thanks, I have contacted Sony support. They gave me the usual troubleshooting steps and asked the same questions repeatedly, but hopefully it will cut through eventually.

Oh, and just to correct something from my initial post, I was wrong about a quick turn off/on fixing it, the bug happens every time the TV is turned on or restarted, no matter how long it's been in standby.
