KD-55XE8396 TV update to include freeview play

Does anyone know if Sony are going to issue a software update to this model to allow access to freeview play which is much easier than other catch up services?

Hi Squirrel, welcome to the Sony UK Community 

Sony did announce Freeview Play for a number of current models, although I don't see you exact model on the list. It's not clear at present whether it will become available for a wider range of models.

Hi @Squirrel171  According to that annoucement it looks like Linux models only, not Android TV.
