Sony BRAVIA KD-55XF9005 media playback issues.

Hi,

I have the above model and experiencing issues when using the media playback section. 

I have inserted a USB 2tb hard drive which contains media films. There is approximately 1.8tb of data. 

When I plug it into TV it loads up my folders as I have it (alphabetical order). When I go to select a file it takes for ever to load and when it eventually plays it will only play so long and then pause... That's if it does play.

I have tried a TV factory reset which hasn't resolved with the TV. 

I have tried this 2tb drive in other USB tvs and it works. 

I've tried another device in the TV which also works fine. 

Any suggestions.

2Tb hdd  without its own power supply may absorb too much power from the usb port. Depending on which port you use the limit should be 0.5 or 0.9 amp. Check on the hdd specs
