Sony KD65XF7596 Faulty?

Hi All,

Just purchased a Sony KD65XF7596 TV,and there is a dark smudge in all four corners.

Tried to capture it in the picture below,it's much more noticeable in person.

I read it that in edge LED TVs it might be normal, but i've chosen this model, becuse it's direct LED according to the official specifications.

Does annyone knows what problem is this,or if it's really an issue,or somethin normal amon LED TVs?

Thank you

This is actually common to Sony FALD and direct LED TVs. I guess this is done on purpose in order to prevent light bleed from the corners.

Thank you.

Do you know if all Sony FALD and LED TV has this,or they could just have it?

Also if some owners with similar TV could confirm, that they have this,i would really appreciate it.

Thank you

You might want to check out some reviews of LCD LED TVs on rtings.com (specifically the gray uniformity test). Dark corners and edges is really common for this type of TV. For better uniformity, you need to go OLED. But then you will suffer from image retention and probably even burn-in...

Thanks Kuschelmonschter,you are right indeed.

Mine is not even that noticeable like some of the examples i saw in the tests.

Thank you!
