Since my TV received an Android update I had no end of issues. The TV can turn off suddenly while watching normal TV or watching via an app. The sound often does not work and I have to do a full OS restart. The TV goes a funny colour from time to time on the home screen.
The update was received 2-3 months ago. I have been waiting for another update to fix it, but it does not seem like one is coming.
Should I take the TV back to the shop? I have had it less than a year.
Hi GF3LOVE,
I'll look into this for you and see if I can find out. Someone else in the community may be able to advise in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi GF3LOVE,
That's very strange. There might be some internal unnecessary stored data. Could you try clearing them by pressing Home - Settings - Storage & Reset - Internal Storage - Clear cached data?
Cheers,
The_Black_Rose
Thank you. Please let me know what you find out.
Thank for advising me to clear the cache. I have tried this and I hope to see some improvement.
I have similar issues and it also started right after Android update.
I've lost all the channel setup 3 times (and it is NOT user-friendly to set up again).
But the most annoying thing is this. Since the TV is connected to external receiver and speaker I use the TV to stream music from my samsung mobile.
I used Chromecast before but use TV now to get rid of some gadgets. I can start spotify on my Samsung S8, cast to TV and all works for about 5-10 min and then the whole TV freezes and I can not do anthing else but pull the plug.
When i put it back in Android "restarts" and it works again until next time i cast music.
I've had my TV from early jan 2019 and have used it for casting music through spotify at least 3-4 times/week with no issues and this started annoying bug started just days after my android update in early august.
Did you reset your TV to factry setting after the upgrade? It may solve "strange" problems...
Yes, tried that twice.
No luck.
Do you have the Spotify app installed on the TV or not? I do not usually cast from spotify but rather use the TV app directly with no issue at all. Do not know if it change anything
Yes I do.
Thing is, when I cast to the TV my phone works mereley as a remote control since Spotify on TV automatically engages and actually plays the music.
The TV remote is a real mess to use, that's why I start everything on my mobile but once Spotify starts the app on the TV takes over.
Although, if I turn off "cast" on my phone the music stops. So maybe there is still a connection there.
I will try both ways and see if it differs. But if it does, what would that tell us?
