Sony Xperia E5 shut off

it clicked off. It will not start back up again but if I put in the charge a red light comes on.... leave it awhile and it will not start up still

Sorry to hear about this issue 

First of all, can you hold down the volume up key and power button together. The phone should vibrate once then three times. Once it does, release the keys and try to turn the phone on as normal.
