BDP-S790 can't get SACD to play through STR DG-820

Just purchased the S790 and enjoying it so far.   However I can't seem to get the right settings to play SACD audio through my DG-820.  Don't know it the settings fault is with my 790 or the 820.   suspect its the 790 as it gives me an error message saying SACD can't be played through HDMI.   Anybody know the solution?

lets take a look here, now i dont play SACD but in the players menu have you got in music settings, SACD playback layer set to super audio cd ? and check the playback channels are set DSD Multi, not sure at this point if it will work, if it does not then another work around would be to connect either a Digital optical/ or coaxial interconnect and set it up in Audio Settings, whilst your there check and see if Audio HDMI is set to auto as this may or may not have a bearing on this.

let us know how you get on.

remember if this does not work with HDMI then it surely will with a Digital interconnect.
