Connecting a Sony sub

Hi guys simple question for you , I have purchased a Sony STR-DH810 Amp but my sub has a Sony plug on the end and my amp has the sub phono socket ? Is there anything I can do to connect the two together ? All help greatly appreciated.

It would help if you tell us which Subwoofer you have or at least what it the connector that it has so that we can find a possible answer. Maybe even take a picture of it

Pls find attached pics for clarification,I'm at a loss as to weather I can connect the sub to the amp by maybe cutting off the plug and attaching a connector that will connect into the amp ? Sub and connectorBack of amp

Hi MarkyT288,

It seems like you're trying to use a subwoofer that was supplied with a home theatre system with this AV receiver which I don't think is possible as different devices require different connections and specs.

I'd recommend getting a subwoofer that's specifically made to work with AV receivers.
