My SVR-HDT1000 has not been working properly for some time, with picture and sound badly out of sync and blank periods during playback. Now it's given up completely - 'title list' just gives me an empty menu, which freezes and I have to switch the machine off. I've tried repair disk, but that freezes the machine too. So, I've lost all my recordings and the machine now does nothing useful. Reading the forums, I'm surprised that Sony would release a machine as poorly developed as this one appears to be. Is there any mileage in returning it, or are there better machines out there to try instead?
