My 87 year old mum has a Sony TV Number KDL40R483 and has always enjoyed recording her programmes onto a HDD for a couple of years now. All of a sudden, it's stopped working for no reason at all. I've bought 3 new HDDs and none of them have been recognised so far. I know it has to be a formatted FAT32 and I've tried re-formatting and also tried an HDD pre-formatted but still no luck. Ive also tried partions but nothing. I know this is a problem for others as I've read other threads. I've tried a few leads as well but no luck. Can anyone give me a definitive HDD model that is guaranteed to work. if not, is there a very simple set top box that my mum could use without affecting how she operates her Tv at the moment as I think she would struggle.
