KDL-42W650A no subtitle when streaming from NAS
Hi to all!
I have problem with streaming video from WD My Cloud (NAS)!
Video is great, but problem is that I don't see subtitle.
No matter subtitle is in same folder and with same name as video file.
If I play same file (video together with subtitle) over usb, than everything is OK!
So, is it possible to stream video together with subtitle via network directly from NAS!
WD My Cloud has DLNA Media Server (Version 7.2.6-2E_7.4.0-14)

Hi there
From my understanding the WD My Cloud uses Twonky for the DLNA server. Twonky requires the client (ie the TV) to support srt files over DLNA. I dont believe the TV can do this. Is there a way to force subs and have it embedded/burned in, in the video stream - you might want to consult Twonky on this?
See:

All else fails, you could use Sony's Homestream on a PC which has an option to do this.
Cheers

DLNA protocol doesn't support subtitles per se, it's up to a DLNA server capability to embed it into the video file. Serviio does it as well as other in the market, probably those embedded in NAS and router are more simpler...
