KDL-42W829B Football Mode

Im delighted with my Bravia it really is excellent HOWEVER one of the reasons we bought the W829B is that it had a FOOTBALL mode. Whilst the standard mode picture is acceptable, when we turn on football mode, the screen goes very dull and juddery and literally unwatchable, Could this be a fault or simply a SETTINGS issue. aside from this issue the TV works very well.

The source is SKY HD connected via HDMI.

Hi there

This is probably a settings issue to be honest.  Interesting you purchased it because of football mode though

Firstly, ensure that you have eco settings turned OFF (such as the light sensor). 

Secondly, when using the Sky Box, you may want to change the TVs display settings.  To do this, do the following:

1. On the TVs remote control, press the [Sync Menu] button
2. Go down to "TV control with TV remote" and press [OK]
3. You can now use the [Options] button or change any settings.
4. When done, simply reverse it by pressing the [Sync Menu] button again and choose "Device Control"

There are also other options in the Sync menu of which you dont have to go through that process (unless you need to that is).  Such as "TV Control"

Main advice, just experiment with the settings to get whats right for you.
