Whenever I turn the TV on and select the guide there are lots of channels which have the message no event information and I have to do a digital retune but I have to do that everytime I turn the TV on.I have a Talktalk Youview box and a Humax et top box and if I use these to watch the television there is no problem. Why do I need to keep doing a digital retune. My TV set is a Sony KDL-42W653A.How do I do a update on this set and what is the latest version.
I just tried to download the latest software but it said no newer versions available. My current software's number is
PKG4-600EUA
I have just done a factory reset but that did not solve the problem.

Hi muffin1947,
I think there are two things left to do. First, try manual tunning instead of auto tunning. Second, try adjusting the aerial position and if possible, check the TV with a different aerial.
If the issue remains after all of this, maybe the TV needs to get inspected by a service centre as it could be a hardware issue.
Hope this helps,

The problem has been resolved I phoned the Digital TV sevice yesterday and spoke to a very nice lady and after trying a couple of things she suggested doing a manual re-tune and she stayed with me while I did it and it solved the problem as have not had a No Event Information message since but thanks for your interest.
I may have stumbled across the solution to this guys! Each time you turn on the TV, simply tune into Vintage TV (Channel 82 in my area) which shows initially as "No Event Information". Give it a second or two and it then updates not only this channel with the event info, but also ALL the others that were missing!! It's as if this is the key channel to unlocking the data. It works for me and as such a simple solution I thought I'd offer it up to you to try! Good luck!
