I agree with your suggestion we use a cheap "TV NOW" box obtained from ie
Tesco`s. They work perfectly via Wi Fi provided you have a reasonable
signal so are simple to install.

I think the reason people are upset is because buying one of these NowTV boxes, Roku etc... is that then there's no point in having a "Smart TV" if you're having to use another box.

I do agree with what your saying but this argument has gone on for months.
As you realise I`m sure its all to do with a deal set up between ITV and
Samsung etc. I do not believe we will ever get round this easily, only way
is to circumvent the problem by using other methods. Remember the major
manufactures ie Sony, Panasonic, LG, etc, etc would love to offer it if they
could.

They dearly would love to sell even more sets if they could. I was in the
television business for 50 yrs so I know a little of how they work.

having to purchase another device AND have a tablet or phone streaming to

But its the same for all Android TVs - If you have an Android based Sony TV, then enable YouView and All4 will be displayed. 

If you do not have an Android based TV - then unfortunately ITV Player and All4 are not available.
