bios flashing problems

Hi, i've been download the last bios upgrade form vaio-link web site, and when i want to flash the bios, a message like 'the progam cannot be running under emulation memory (i.e. himem)' is print. But i'm sure i haven't load himem support because of using windows98 rescue disk without it (in an CDROM emulation because i haven't floppy drive in my laptop PCG QR10).
Please help me, i didn't know how to upgrade my laptop.
thanks.

I am sure a Floppy Drive would solve all of your problems as many Vaio's require the files to be on a floppy drive for boot & installation of bios files.

Somwhere during bootup himem.sys is being loaded and causing your problem.

I think my first question would be why are you flashing the BIOS? There's usually a less painful solution, post your problem here and see if anyone knows it.

If you are intent on flashing the BIOS, if you can make a boot CD, put the BIOS files on CD in the same manner.
