PCG-9L1M Keyboard - compatibility

hello all

am trying to find a new keyboard for my mum's pcg-9l1m but can't find one sadly. Can anyone help me with finding a compatible model? is there a sony guidance page where i can find out whether a keyboard for a different viao would fit and work?

all help/advice welcome (and yes i've tried repairing the current keyboard!)

Hi Ian,

You are quoting an invalid model - try looking inside the Vaio, probably on the screen surround, and you will find the correct model.  It is probably something like PCG-FR315M and if you Google this model type you will find several keyboards for sale.

Unfortunately a new one will cost £60 - have a look here: -

But you may be lucky and find a second-hand one

hi Blencogo - thanks for the reply.

i was quoting the label on the bottom. there's a sony sticker with Model: PCG-9L1M on it... it is quite old (c. 5 - 10 years or so) but unless there's another sticker somewhere?!

Hi Ian,

If it is an FR series you should find the model number above the speaker grill next to the left hand screen hinge.

whereas i should have looked at the front:

right - the search resumes!
