Can anyone help please? This laptop that is about a year and a half old emits a very quiet high pitched noise on start up then dissapears. Also i get an intermittent "morse code" like very faint bleeping noise whenever the laptop is on. Both these noises seem to have been happenig for the past 3 days or so. I have done a complete malware and virus scan...all ok. I also did a system restore to before the noises began but they are still there. The laptop is working fine but the noises especially the bleeping are irritating..the noises are coming from inside the laptop and NOT the speakers. Over the past 2 months i have had 2 warnings about high cpu usage(before noises began) even though i wasn't running any programmes or applications... i was just on the internet. I regularly check my cpu usage which is normally only about 1% or 2%. Do you think the cpu warnings are connected to the noises?. The laptop is not hot to the touch. I contacted sony support by phone and they could not help except to suggest a complete system restore to identify if it is a software or hardware problem..but i don,t want to do this. Sony said they have no record of these kind of noises been reported before which is strange because on google i found about ten pages relating to bleeping on sony laptops!
Although my laptop is running fine i was worried that the noises may be a warning that something bad was going to happen and i would like to prevent it.
Any advice please.. has anyone else had these problems?..please keep your answers non-technical as i am no expert!....THANKS
