Hi, I have a Vaio FE31Z which is less than a month old. It has developed a problem with the sound in that it keeps losing the SigmaTel High Definition audio codec. I have managed to get it working again (for now) but it is frustrating to have to effectively add a new piece of hardware everytime I switch on my computer. I tried the system restore but unfortunately that doesn't seem to want to work either.
Can anyone help please?
Has this suddenly started?
HAve you tried a full uninstall of the sound driver and reinstall?
have you checked in event viewer (control panel>admin tools>) to see if something there is an indication into what is happening to it?
