Things are getting a little hot

Hi,

i've got a FS215Z - and according to a program i've got the processor is running at about 61-65c when its plugged in and the harddrive is running at about 30-40 (which i'm not so concerned about)... but this is all quite hot eh? The laptop is only a month or so old.

Please help!

Also - has anyone has issues running a usb hub via the docking station in one of these bad boys?

Cheers

Seems about right to me. Some Sony machines do tend to run a bit on the hot side but as long as it doesn't start creeping into the 70s you'll be fine.

Have you got an issue with the hub/D'Station?

I agree with Twosted-Rizla, it's alright, if it goes any higher then I would clean it out

Yeah its a weird one. ok - all of the usb ports on the docking station work fine when i plug in indivisual devices - but when i plug in any hub they complain of a power surge... but when i plug the hub into the laptop (directly) I have no issue. weird eh? I contacted sony - and they said there is no issue that they can help with & they haven't heard of it before. weird eh?

Most laptops run hot, and anyway, processors will be happy running at anything up to 90C, i know it sounds mental, but its what they are designed to do, after all.

Take the advice of these great guys and go to your power settings and select 'adaptive' that will shave 10 degrees off the idle. Leave the fan settings on 'performance' also download this Mobile Meter
