hi, I just want to know what Sata version have my Laptop vgn-fw21z Dard Drive ??

because i wondering to replace the Har drive with some more RPM's (7200) and place (1TB).

Hi Wayand,

It is almost certainly SATA 2.0 - (3.0Gbit/s).

To check go to Device Manager and expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.

If the SATA Controller is ICH6 or lower and 82801 F ........ Then you have SATA 1.0 (1.5 Gbit/s)

If the SATA Controller is ICH7 or higher and 82801 G ...... Then you have SATA 2.0 (3.0 Gbit/s)

You can also check the specifications of your 965PM chipset on the Intel website.
