After a weeks holiday my battery shows ***0% remaining (charging)***. Has the battery died or is there any way to get it to charge? Power management is currently set to ***VAIO maximum battery. The battery is quite new and I don't want to fork out another £100+ for a new one if it can be saved. TIA.
I assume you have unclipped it and reinserted the battery - maybe cleaning the contacts on both ends?
Also does it actually charge and just state 0% or is it physically not charging
Thanks, I have tried sliding the battery in and out. The power meter recognises when there is no battery, reporting ***not present***, when the battery is in it recognises a Sony battery and reports ***on line, charging***. Also, the (central) contacts look clean and bright so connections seem OK. It definately has no charge as the VAIO dies if I try to run on battery. The power has now been on constantly for over a day and it just continues to report ***0% remaining (charging)***
