Unfortunately the proximity sensor is the killing problem of this phone. In the forum there are many threads about this issue, in general showing that it is very difficult to make a call without accidentally touching the screen (for instance the mute icon).
It doesn't seem that sony is interested in addressing the problem. This made me change my phone and brand, my xa2 is now resting in a box.
