I have an Xperia XA and during a call, the entire screen goes black. I am unable to end calls as even when I take the phone away from my ear, it remains black. It also happens during calls in apps. I ran a test device and confirmed the sensor is not working. Is there any way I can turn the sensor off?
I'm sorry to hear about the issue, there isn't a way to do so; as for the proximity sensor issue, does your phone has a protective case, film and/or glass that might be covering or partially covering it, proximity sensor?
I'm afraid not, I do not have anything on the phone so I'm not sure why the issue persists
Yes I did test it and it failed the test
in that case, you could try to clean the sensor but most likely its a hardware issue, if so then you will have to contact your Local Support to get it inspected. Before doing so, you could repair the phone with Xperia Companion.
