Hi, looking for some advice. I dropped my Xperia XA1 and although outwardly it looks fine, it is unresponsive and will not power up. When I plug the charger in the red light comes on for 3 seconds, goes off, the phone vibrates and then the red light comes on for 3 seconds and so on.
I've connected it to my laptop via USB but the computer can't detect the phone.
I've been to two shops - one says it needs a new internal screen, the other says it probably needs a new battery. Not sure who is right - does that red light - vibrate sequence mean anything specific?
Many thanks (and fingers crossed)
I can't tell if you'll need a new battery but for sure there's an issue with at least the battery, either it got loose and could be easily fixed by opening the phone and reconnect the ribbon, or replace the battery, if you had the phone for more than a year it'll be wise just to replace it.
Unfortunately, we can only speculate regarding this.
Thanks very much for your reply. I took it to a repair shop and when they opened it they found that where the battery cable is soldered to the motherboard it had snapped off when it hit the ground. Quite a hefty charge to have it repaired
I'm sorry to hear that, indeed the motheboard it's the most expensive part of the phone.
