How can I factory reset my Sony Experia z5, never put a fingerprint on it and I have forgotten the pattern and pin seen as its been in the drawer for around a year, I know the email and password used, just can't get in
Hi @hamza57919, welcome to our forum!
To remove the screen lock on your device, I recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data that is stored on the internal storage, but also remove the screen lock on your device.
Remember that you will have to use your Google credentials to be able to access the device after the software repair since the device supports the Google Device Protection feature.
I hope that helps!
Rubbish advice, as only a Sony user had the pleasure to receive. The on-screen keyboard stopped working and I'm not able to unlock my phone, and "due to security reasons," it is not possible to unlock with fingerprint after a reset.
And guess what Xperia Companion is not working because "Your device is locked" and I need to unlock using a password or fingerprint on the device.
Never Sony again !!!!!!!!!
If I will be offered for free a Sony phone I will throw it directly in the garbage bin!!!
Hi @Julianod, sorry to hear that your keyboard stopped working.
In your case, turn the device off and remove the USB cable from the computer > click on "Software repair" > mark the little box in the bottom left corner > click on "Next" > click on "Xperia phone or tablet" and proceed with the on-screen suggestions.
You will be asked to connect the device to the computer again shortly and the repair will continue.
I hope that helps and it sounds like a waste to throw the device away when you can fix it on your own.
