Charge if no fault is found when sent for repair

Hi, I started a thread earlier about some display issues I'm having. I understand that the green tint on 120hz Oled screens is quite widespread across all manufacturers but can be fixed to a certain extent with firmware updates so I'm not too worried about that. The text flickering is really annoying though and doing it now, I sent Sony Support an email about my concerns and they have replied asking me to book it in to be looked at, at a service centre. The way the email is worded it sounds like there would be a charge if no fault was found. This seems a bit out of order if that is the case because there is a strong possibility that they come back with no fault can be found or couldn't be replicated. I had that with Huawei a couple of years ago even though the screen was bright green in all conditions. I eventually had it replaced but had to send it back a couple of times. Does anyone have any experience with sending a device back to Sony and were you charged if no fault was found? Sorry about the long post, cheers.

Yeah they do charge a handling fee, if there's no fault or if there's any reason blocking the repair from happening, one of mine was too old to repair economically or whatever and as I recall, I payed around 15 pounds to get it back, I could've had them destroy it since it's no use, but.. sentimental value u,u
