55X8509C TV Voice Input Stopped Working on Home Screen

Hello,

     I have a 55X8509C TV with voice input. Up until about a week ago it was working on the home screen. After exiting and then finally giving up on Youview I found voice input from the home screen wouldn't work, saying on occassion it couldn't connect to Google. Voice input works OK in Youtube and other apps, just not from the home screen. Anyone have any idea why?

And strangely starting working again. Seems the default app setting to Bravia TV input possibly went missing. Reset this as I had a second app which could take input. Upon choosing the default again voice input starting working though cannot absolutely confirm causality.
